Govt Announces Big Decrease in Prices of Petrol and Diesel
The federal government announced a big decrease in the prices of petroleum products on Sunday
Petrol prices will drop by 10 rupees per liter to around Rs 249.10 while high-speed diesel has seen its cost decrease by 13.06 rupees per Liter to just 249.69 starting September 16th. These price changes will take effect.
The drop in prices for petroleum-based products can be attributed to the steady decrease in oil prices around the globe.

Within the last two weeks, international oil prices dropped below 70 cents per barrel while Pakistani rupee reached 278 against US dollars.
At its final fortnightly review of petroleum prices, the government cut gasoline costs by one rupee (1.86 per liter). High-speed diesel costs also decreased by Rs 3.32 per liter.
Prior to today, diesel and petrol prices had already seen an overall reduction of Rs. 16.50 per liter across three previous adjustments, and an average decrease of approximately 20.88.
